Lovely North Yorkshire.

Sutton Bank is a hill in Hambleton District of the North York Moors National Park, England. It is 978ft {298m}
high . Great views of the Vale of York. The A170 road runs down the Bank ,25% gradient. The Yorkshire Gliding Club is based at the top of Sutton Bank. Also at the top is the Centre of Sutton Bank National Park. A feature of Sutton Bank is the White Horse,on the southern side ,.
The White Horse was created in 1857 by removing the top soil and showing the rock and covering
with white limestone chippings. It is 318ft {97m } long and 220ft {67m] high. It can be seen from the East Coast Main Rail line, on the right hand side
travelling North.----Helmsley to Sutton Bank by Taxi takes 11 minutes. I travelled by bus, but in todays timetable it does not appear to
run.SUTTON  BANK,  is part of the  Hambleton  Hills.

Abbey is a ruin of a Cistercian Monastry,in a valley of the North York Moors, two and a half miles
from Helmsley. on the river Rye. The first Monks arrived from France in AD 1131. The first Abbot,
William, started the stone buildings. The Abbey was dismantled by King Henry V111 under the dissolution in 1538.
